Petra in Jordan was the capital of the Nabataeans, a 3rd century BC Arab dynasty. Petra was carved out of miles of towering rock walls.
Petra is an architectural marvel set in a deep canyon. Entrances of homes lie in straight lines. Temples and tombs house elaborate carvings. Patterned rocks colored brown, yellow and red stretch on for miles.
